The right way of experiencing the spiritual world must be developed here in the physical world. That is why we have been placed in the physical world: it is our task here to seek for ideas that are in harmony with objective reality, so that we acquire this ability and so that it becomes a habit we can carry with us into the spiritual world.

Why A Library?
Sheffield Steiner Library has existed in some way for many years (10+) and via the donations of many people over the years, it has grown to a decent size. As stated above, it is the largest public collection of Anthroposophical books in the north of England and reading is available for everyone, for free.
The library opens on Wednesdays at 5:30pm till 8:00pm and while the library is open upstairs, there is a three-week rotating timetable of what goes on downstairs. There’s housekeeping (organising and managing Sheffield Steiner Group, don’t let that scare you off though, everything is still open as usual!), craft, and community talk.
We release what exactly is going on at these sessions on the “Events and Groups” page. If you have any questions about the library or the openings, feel free to let us know.
Developing Online Systems
We are in the process of developing automated systems to help the library work. Stay tuned!
Access for All
The library helps those who want to, but cannot afford to buy new copies of these books, some of which can be quite expensive. The library is accessible at most events at No. 78 and anybody, for free can read and learn.
Many Topics Covered
The books in Sheffield Steiner Library cover a wide variety of topics and are from a wide variety of authors.
